Shown to the table

The Fola
Cards left in the Fola, by suit: 2 cups, 1 coins, 2 swords, 2 batons.
The dealer and the dealer's partner can see the rest of the Fola. Everyone else hears how many cards of each suit it holds.

Cards played, by suit
Filled means played. Boxed means in your hand. Empty means still out there.
This hand
- You were dealt 7 of batons face up.
- East was dealt 6 of swords face up.
- Partner was dealt Queen of batons face up.
- West was dealt 1 of swords face up.
- East took Trump 32, King of batons, Trump 35, Trump 37, Trump 5 out of the Fola. They stay in the dealer's hand and count like any card.
Reading the cards
C cups, D coins (denari), S swords, B batons. P page, H horse, Q queen, K king. M the Matto. A trump shows its number.
Cups and coins: 1 is the best number and 10 the worst. Swords and batons: 10 is the best and 1 the worst. Above the numbers come the page, the horse, the queen and the king.
Every trump beats every plain card, and a higher trump beats a lower one. The Matto never wins a trick.
A dark number is what the card is worth. The 29 shows a ringed 5: it is worth nothing alone and 5 inside a versicola.
How to play
Four sit round one table in two partnerships, partners opposite. You are at the bottom, a computer partner is across from you and two computers sit either side. The pack is 97 cards: four suits of fourteen, forty trumps and the Fool, the Matto. Each hand is 21 cards and 21 tricks.
If you robbed cards before the first lead, you pick what to discard back down to 21. Counting cards and the 29 stay in your hand. Then follow the suit that was led, else play a trump, else anything. The highest trump wins, or else the highest card of the suit led. A card you cannot play is dimmed, and tapping it says why.
Points come from counting cards, captures, versicole, the last trick and cards over 42. Sixty points ahead wins a resto, and the match is eight deals: more resti wins, then more points scored. The computers play by simple rules, and they see their own hand and the table, nothing more. Pause computers holds them while you think.
