Pope Joan
Pope Joan for three to eight, with people wherever they are.
How to play
Pick how many seats you want, three to eight, and the table gives you a link for each of the others. Every seat has to arrive before the first card is dealt, because the whole pack goes out at once and the last card of it is turned up.
That turned-up card is the reward suit, and the table says which seat is holding it, because at a real table it lies face up in front of them. Nothing else about that hand is public. Your own hand is the only one with faces on it: the other seats show as a row of backs and a number, and the spare hand shows as a count alone.
On your turn the cards you may play are the bright ones: the lowest card you hold in a suit when you lead, or the one card the run is waiting for. The table says what the last play did, which pot it collected and whether it stopped the run.
When somebody plays their last card the hand is over. They take First out and a counter for every card still held by everyone except a seat holding the Pope. Press ready and the next deal goes out with the unclaimed pots still on the board and the deal one seat further round, so the fifteen the new dealer puts down lands on top of whatever Pope has been growing. A seat reaching a hundred and fifty counters takes the match, and the tenth hand ends it whatever the score.
Chat is always on at the table, and voice only if the host switched it on when they made it. A table waits forty eight hours, so a room you left is still there when you come back through the list on the Pope Joan page.
