Terziglio

Terziglio for three, with people wherever they are.

How to play

This table needs all three seats before the first card is dealt, so the host has two links to send and picks how long the match is: first to 7 points, 11 or 21. Nothing happens until the other two arrive.

Twelve cards each, and four face down in the middle. The other two hands show as backs and a number, because you can see how many cards they hold but not which ones. The monte is four backs too, until the soloist takes it or the hand is counted.

Bid in turn, once each: pass, or chiamo, solo or solissimo, each higher than the one before. The top bid plays alone against the other two. A chiamo names a card first, and if an opponent holds it, it comes across face up and the soloist gives one card back. Chiamo and solo turn the monte up and put four cards face down in its place; a solissimo takes nothing and leads at once.

On your turn in play, the cards you can play are the bright ones. Follow the suit that was led if you hold it. A card the rules will not take is dimmed and says why when you press it.

At the count the table lists what each side made, what was paid and each seat's total, and all three of you press Next hand to go on. Chat is always on at the table, and voice only if the host switched it on when they made it.
