Speed

You each hold five cards and sit behind your own face-down draw pile. Two cards go face up in the middle. A card from your hand can go on a middle pile when it is one rank above or below the card showing there, and an ace counts next to both a king and a two. Every card you play is replaced from your draw pile straight away.

There are no turns, so you are both reaching for the same two piles at once. If neither of you has a move left, the game notices and turns a fresh card onto each middle pile. The first player to empty their hand and their draw pile wins the round. On a phone or tablet you tap a card to play it, and on a keyboard the number keys 1 to 5 play the card in that position of your hand, holding shift sends it to the right pile when both fit, and space turns the fresh cards the moment nobody can move.
